Wednesday 03/02/2021 day 47

So moms doing this teaching from home lark. Obviously, I’ve been as helpful as I can keeping her company and snoozing on her keyboard just so she knows I’m here for her.

It’s been a while so I thought I’d give you a little update on how Sophia Squirrel, Ralf the Rat and Oakley Chipmunk are doing (obviously Oakley is adopted). I haven’t had so many updates over the winter but apparently according to Boscoe the badger who was passing through last night they are all tucked up nice and warm and just waiting for spring. It’s Oakley the Chipmunks first winter so he is really looking forward to spring, apparently he doesn’t like cold paws at all. I can appreciate that, we had about a centimetre of snow recently and boy was it cold on the paws.

Tuesday 02/02/2021 Day 46

Well I’ve got some exciting news. We welcomed Rosie into the family at the weekend. Obviously I haven’t had a chance to meet her yet (yup I’m still keeping safe at the flat with mom). Anyway Auntie Mouse picked Rosie up at the weekend.

Oh by the way I’ve included another health and safety poster. And remember keep those paws 🐾 clean.

Monday 18/01/2021 Day 31

So mom’s obviously been home alone with me a little too long she’s given up on watching Netflix and started watching more YouTube. Caught her giggling watching Devin Siebold teacher videos again. Then she moved on to political parodies. Between Penn Holderness, Randy Rainbow and Jen Houston videos she was obviously quite entertained.  I think she needs to get out a bit more – maybe more visits to the lamppost .

Sunday 17/01/2021 day 30

Very very sad news last week I’m afraid. Moms sister Auntie Mouse had a dog called Nala who was 13. Cousin Nala was unwell and sadly had to be put to sleep.

Rest in peace Nala dog. I just wanted to say run free over that rainbow bridge to see all the other pups that crossed before you.

Saturday 16/01/2021 day 29

I think I mentioned a while back my auntie maddie who visits when mom is at school and takes me for W.A.L.K.I.E.S yes I can spell walkies in case you were wondering. Don’t tell mom though she thinks she’s being clever when she spells it out, as if I didn’t know. I can spell duck treats too, he he he.

Anyway I went on the Internet and bought auntie maddie a mug for Christmas to show how much appreciate her. I had it specifically printed with the painting mom did of me and a little comment – I have to say she’s pretty good at tickling ears too.

Tuesday 05/01/2021 – day 18

Well that all came as a big surprise. So mom is going to be teaching classes from home via video for the next few weeks. She didn’t appreciate it when I woofed hi to her year 12’s today though. I thought it was funny anyway. To be honest though I did start to snooze a bit when she was telling them about the limitations of management information systems, I think I managed to keep the snoring down.

Monday 04/01/2021 Day 17 of the New lockdown

Don’t get me wrong I know it’s awful that we’re in the middle of a pandemic and all that but can I just give a massive woof of appreciation that mom is going to be teaching from home all this week.

Now to get this under control people don’t forget:

  1. Wash those paws 🐾
  2. Keep a distance (not from your dog 🐕)
  3. Wear those man muzzles

Thursday 31/12/2020 – Day 13 of the New lockdown

Well moms been sat on the couch for two days on the trot in too much pain to move but it did mean lots of tv, duck treats and belly rubs (that’s from my perspective obviously, I don’t think she was quite as impressed). Unfortunately being New Year’s Eve there are already tons of fireworks going off and it’s not even 8pm yet. Moms got my Thundershirt on me ready, the adaptil plug is switched on and a neatly butchered sock 🧦 is ready to go over my ears if it gets too bad with the fireworks 💥. What is with people and explosives 🧨 oh and while I’m at it why are people still ignoring the rules about staying home safe, wearing masks and washing their paws regularly. It’s not rocket science people. If a Chihuahua can get his head around it I guess most people should be able to. (Okay we’ll exclude mums ex from that ‘cos apparently he really was an idiot, it’s not a problem though she has me now and a Chihuahua = 100% loyal – did I mention mom bought a wall hanging that says “I’d push you in front of zombies 🧟‍♀️ to save my chihuahua” (just sayin))

But come on people clean paws 🐾 and stay on the couch 🛋 seriously- take a lesson from us dogs. 🐕

Gotta go moms got Baileys and some serious manipulating is called for to get even a sniff.

Happy New Woofs.

I think my New Years resolution will be to Smell new lamp posts and chase more squirrels 🐿 (much the same as last year really)

Friday 25/12/2020 day 8 of the current lockdown

So happy Christmas everyone. Had a great day. Had a pleasant surprise when Nan and Auntie Mouse dropped Bonnie dog over for a sleep over. We all had prezzies and mom made Christmas dinner for us all. Bonnie and me had dog kibble with fake Turkey, Yorkshire puddings and roast potato with stuffing – yum.

Mom got me a self heating mat which makes a weird noise when you step on it but apparently stays warm. Sat and watched TV for a while and then had an early night. Merry woofmas to one and all.

Wednesday 23/12/2020 day 6 of the current lockdown

So it’s been a while since my last update. Moms been working hard and has had to cut back on some things including my blog which I’m actually okay about. I know I nap a lot but mom is obviously pretty exhausted as we are now competing for the title of. “Daytime Napper – expert level”

I do understand as she has pointed out how much chihuahua health and dental care comes to each month and that’s before we factor in duck treats (woof). So anyway had a visit to the V.E.T a few weeks back (yes I can spell) I have a bit of arthritis in the front left leg (beginning to understand why mom is sometimes grumpy – being in pain sucks). Good news is I have some meds for it and being a crafty chihuahua I’ve worked out how to get some yummy cheese spread (okay I do feel a little guilty taking advantage of the situation but not too much).  All I had to do was turn up my nose at taking the meds with cheese or butter – woof. So far we’ve tried chicken paste, beef paste, salmon paste (which apparently gives me fish breath whatever that is) and primula cheese spread.

I’ve had mom do my Christmas shopping and she’s wrapped all my gifts for the family. I’m actually quite looking forward to Christmas. It’s a bit disappointing that I can’t have a sleep over with Bonnie, Nan and the Guinea Pigs but the upside is that I am fully expecting a place sat at the table with mom this year. I know moms bought fake turkey being a vegetarian but it tastes pretty good actually.
